stevehudson I've created a system of ideograms for English, incorporating GS ideas. I use what i call "gradient indicators" with marks to indicate the degrees of a quality. It is more extensional than ordinary speech and writing. I call them "neoideograms" or "ids". I illustrate Latin and Greek roots with them, thus making the English transparent to these root languages. I also have created ids independent of etymology. They are more specific (less ambiguous) than ordinary writing, -- different ids for different senses of a word being often plainly appropriate -- and thus clearer. They promote consciousness of abstraction. They are creative. They transcend ordinary language -- give a means of escape from it. Sometimes I create one and think: hmmm . . . we don't have a word for that. They are applicable to other languages. I don't want to be just self-promoting here, but anyone interested can contact me at neoideographer@gmail.com. I will try to apply them to GS issues and ideas and share.
